Due to the close functional relation to the connected services of the Alliance's on-board software solution for which my team was responsible, we also took responsibility for the next evolution of a traditional desktop application which is needed to perform the update process of the on-board software.
This software was especially interesting from a scalability perspective. As a customer facing solution across all Alliance companies, brands and regions, we needed to support multiple brand design guidelines, full internationalization, UI support for right-to-left (RTL) language layouts and multiple Asian scripts. These had to be supported on both Windows and macOS platform.
As a key component in the update process for all future Alliance brand vehicles, we ran extensive user testing, both in-house and external to iterate and further optimize the design of the application.
